Announcements: Eugene

      * 50 M$ for FY12 for 12 GeV, much less than original plan
           + plans depend on how we shift spending from FY12 to FY13 or
             FY14

           + Tim Hallman has said not all NSAC recommendations can be
             executed
      * Physics Division budget: can we support four halls?
           + some part of personnel will be shared
           + one hall may go to sleep for years
      * plans for Hall D still as they are on paper
           + beam: Spring of '14
                o may be delayed to Fall
                o see particles in the Hall
           + Fall of '14: Halls C and B
           + Fall of '13: Hall A
           + end of '15: Engineering Run

Baby BCAL Test: Elton

      * Proposals for tests presented this morning, in Hall B meeting:
           + SOLID: Zhiwen Zhao
           + Baby BCAL (BBCAL): Elton and John Leckey
      * told to work with Doug Tilles and Eugene Pasyuk on plans
      * Sit in a position to get 25-30% of electron energy
           + real estate currently occupied by INFN team
      * detector ready by mid-March
      * FCAL prototype is up in alcove at 5% of the beam energy
      * Hall B schedule:
           + this week open: change from photon to electron beam
                o will look at polarization in electron beam
           + in two weeks, go back to photon running
                o new target not ready yet so will take empty target data
           + mid-march new target ready
                o window for installation of BBCAL
      * want 5-pass beam for BBCAL
      * FCAL will stay in alcove, continue with 2-pass, then look at 3-pass
        and 5-pass
      * SOLID wants to be downstream, 50-70% of beam energy
      * design of modification of frame for BBCAL underway
           + need to turn by 90 degrees
      * may need another chiller
      * light guides were supposed to be shipped today
      * boards look in good shape, one part will be soldered on after they
        are stuffed by company
      * test will have full configuration on both ends
      * BBCAL length = 58 cm

Engineering: Tim

      * target refrigerator arrived today, will be given to Chris Keith
      * next target review: Feb. 23
      * FCAL platform: hoping to get out soon for fab, need final
        facilities OK
      * cryo playform: final drawings being worked on
      * collimator hardware coming in
      * making nitrogen shield: a cryo group design, Hall D fabrication
      * electrical interfaces between cryo box and solenoid almost complete
      * all coils leak checked and OK
      * cladding for solenoid due in first week of April
      * working on baffle supports
      * tools for BCAL assembly due middle of March
      * vacuum chamber for the pair spectrometer, in final check, PR will
        be written in next couple of days
      * pole tips due in end of March
      * tooling for FDC and CDC installation: design underway, should be
        done by end of month
      * waiting on ultrasonic test report on tagger magnet
           + then ship for final machining
           + supposed to start winding coil mid-Feb.
           + they claim that they are on schedule
      * vacuum chamber for tagger: have gone on to 2nd bidder, 1st left
        some stuff out, hope to be out for procurement later this week

SiPM Testing: Yi

      * solved DC offset, changed from DC to AC coupling
      * control software ready
      * analysis software almost done
      * OSP: draft written by Carl, sent to Bert, can start work upon
        approval
      * sensors for Baby BCAL: may be limited by PS supply voltage channels

FDC Construction: Lubomir

      * the first package is in EEL 126: go there and you will see a whole
        lot of cables
           + 4 cells connected to electronics, with another TDC will be
             able to connect more
           + some issues with gas, leakage from area near the top spacer
             ring
           + package will have to go back to Blue Crab, opened and fixed
           + package operates, stable, 1 or 2 channel tripping once a day
             or so
           + Beni is analyzing efficiency, not 100% over whole chamber,
             good at gas input, worse on far side
           + trying to improve the grounding
           + started with threshold at 20 V, have gone to 12 V threshold,
             equivalent to 24 mV on output of pre-amps
           + grounding now not the same as it will be in Hall, Fernando
             will work on it
           + efficiency does not depend on threshold, this points to gas as
             the problem
      * at Blue Crab production going well
           + fooling with parameters for electroplating, trying different
             samples
           + 3 wire frames ready and waiting for electroplating
           + 40% of cathodes for 3rd package are ready
           + 1 wire frame had traces de-laminated at HV caps, sent to be
             fixed, traces re-attached by soldering to capacitor connection

FCAL Prototype Testing Electronics: Sascha

      * working with crate to set up integrate data acquisition with Hall B
        crates
      * need interface with old TI board, the one being used in Hall B
      * one TI for read-out (old-style), one for triggering (new-style)
