Eugene, Announcements
* ETC
+ everything done from our side
+ 2.1 M$: original amount, 1.5 limit imposed, 1.6 was not close
enough
+ some things cut, things that we tried to add
+ some things cut from online
o no manpower to work on it
o some activities we can live without in first stages of
operation
+ spare solenoid pushed forward, cost escalated
* Elton on the ETC
+ additional layers of BCAL was added
+ stuff to complete solenoid included
+ installation realism added
+ fernando updated electronics plans
o pair spectrometer
o start counter
* Fernando on Future Items
+ most stuff accounted for already
+ power supplies for SiPM's perhaps will have to be added
* Tim on Future Items
+ most stuff covered
+ beamline downstream of FCAL may need attention
+ place holders added for air, nitrogen
+ for this year, 95% covered, approximately
* Eugene introduced Vanick Kakoyan
+ will be working on online tasks
Tim, Engineering
* Young Man introduced
* pair spectrometer vacuum chamber PR issued
* tagger vacuum chamber has been awarded
* due in in Sep.
* progress on tagger magnet

* welding up copper/nitrogen shields for cryo tank
* start counter drawings being worked on
* TOF drawings being worked on
* can't finish welding LCW until Facilities completes their process
* power supply for solenoid moved to Hall
* mock up done, info extracted, designers looked at it Fri. morning
Fernando, Electronics
* If you plan to order power supplies, UPS's, or any electronic
equipment for the Hall, include Fernando in planning
* will send email on cabling
+ discussed labeling scheme in past
+ need to finalize cabling scheme
+ wants routing information for various subsystems, beginning
and ending points
* preparing for beam test
+ pair spectrometer electronics
+ mini-BCAL electronics
+ by end of week will be ready
* writing statement of work for testing FADC's and TDC's
+ Mark will be SOTR
* flash-125 will be tested here
* flash-250 board manufacturing at ACDI: iterating communication of
documents for fabrication
+ first article due in May, but should be here by end of March
* some assembly at UMass: LED lightguide, front panel, guide block,
heat sink, but no soldering
+ inspections on receipt
+ log serial number, look for broken parts
+ burn-in test, 1/2 hour
+ in VXS crate, full test
* discriminators
+ same company
+ have a dual lemo connector with long lead time, they ordered
already
+ April: first article
+ full order 70 modules for Hall D
+ Hall B will need "a ton of them"
* high voltage
+ should be here in May
* low voltage
+ have first articles
+ production pieces due next week
+ Weiner is behind
* cables should start arriving in Sep.
Cody
* F125 testing
+ working on test procedure
+ offset seen while testing pre-amps
+ digital output of ADC: some bits not connected during assembly
+ pulser output needs to be tested, never looked at
+ Lubomir asks about getting pre-production modules to use.
Fernando: should have all of them by the end of summer
* pre-amps
+ several assembled
+ Nick will help with testing
+ procedure has been streamlined
+ Lubomir: could not set high threshold on pre-amp
discriminator, 50 mV is highest possible
Hovanes
* ordered Dell server
+ now in EEL 126 eel, being set-up
+ for online testing, DAQ, controls, boot images for read-out
controllers, disk space for data
* ordered XPS motion controller from Newport
+ applications: collimator, tagger microscope, harp
* completed ETC things
+ pushed stuff from '12 to '13, '13 to '14, then some from '14
to '13
* Giles working on 480 V distribution plans
+ want to finalize positions of racks and power requirements of
each
* issue with L-shaped side of rack room:
+ only one side ventilated
+ Rebecca looked: both sides are connected, but to the same
module
* plan: deliver 208 from UPS and power panel to racks
+ 120 V may not be enough for a rack of servers
+ 208 V will go under the floor
+ Giles working on this as well
Elliott
* people working on solenoid
* precision current read-out scheme, internal sensor access, Mark
Stevens on it
* some things without RS-232 interfaces
+ Josh found a module that connects ethernet to PLC's
* gas system starting to come up
* have a design for diagnosing power supply trips
* break-out box between coils and instrumentation needed
* level of redundancy still to be decided
* coil tap read-out system in good shape
* Yi: loaner PXI system from NI, communication to PLC working well
+ sampling rate can be as high as few MHz, will go for few
hundred kHz
+ range from 1 to 300 V for maximum voltage
+ testing communication to epics
* Fernando comments on keeping track of modules
+ CED demo, based on Oracle last week
+ competing system in Hall B
+ gui-based systems
+ no need for these relational database system
+ Eugene: what about connection diagram info
+ Elliott: testing installation of both systems
* upcoming online meeting topics
+ trigger supervisor
+ SCONS
+ racks and power
Elton
* BCAL test preparations
+ BCAL U boards came in yesterday
+ light guides came in last week
+ looking at different wrapping for light guides
o tedlar
o acid-free paper
o no wrapping
o not much difference
+ issue of timing of getting the monitoring boards in, perhaps
will be here this week, could then be installed while gluing
+ meetings on electronics being held
+ put together in EEL 126 next week
+ aiming for middle of March
* Elton wondering about progress on George's spec of FMEA system for
solenoid
Sascha
* looking at FCAL prototype data
+ want to feedback to Sergey
+ need more data when beam comes back
* BCAL test preparations
+ implemented scalers in flash adc
+ working on graphical displays
+ Fernando: use 2 V jumper for BCAL
John
* remote scintillator counter, at 5% point being used now
* scintillators in front of array as well
* two other remote counters, not enough data in hand to calibrate
them
Mark
* TOF
+ meeting with FSU designers on Thu.
* Start Counter
+ going with 30 counters
+ going with 3 read-out boards
* Target
+ design meeting last week, progress made
* Offline
+ build on 64-bit RHEL box working after being down
+ single-track diagnostic job running on nightly build
+ DST output format decided

+ still need to use this info in mcsmear
* walk-through with Michelle and Mark Stevens for open house
+ one bus stop: route through counting house, down to hall, back
to bus stop
+ will not include tagger hall
* still no charge or committee for software review
Simon
* slow forward-going protons a new area of study
* 15-20% problem in some areas, not enough good chi-squared tracks
Lubomir
* FDC production: working on third package
+ last week, installed first cell with new electroplating
procedure, held HV for 24 hours
+ also 2nd cell installed
+ all parts for 3rd package ready, more electroplating to do
* first package testing in EEL 126
+ efficiency issues
+ oxygen sensor reveals big fraction of O[2] in chamber
o 10x more than in leaky prototype (0.1%)
o 1% now
o lowest place has lowest[?] efficiency
o suspect that some places not flushing out
o higher flow rate will be tried
Yi
* SiPM production testing
+ calibrating light intensity
+ checking individual channels
+ some problems with connection boards
+ one of the sockets wider than spec
