Hi Elliott,

Since your e-mail clearly was about the PR that I recently submitted I 
have to comment on it.
It was clear that we needed to buy a couple of scopes for generic use, 
at least to me ,
since many times I personally needed a scope and had to look for an hour 
to get one, and
I know that others in the group had the same experience too. And we did  
have  discussions
about it a couple of times, at least at the controls meetings where you 
were present.
And also I am sure  that I announced at the Wednesday collaboration 
meeting that we
actually ordered them.
People who in my opinion had the most valuable input on the selection of 
the scopes,
have been consulted, in particular Fernando, and there was a discussion 
of what to buy.
I believe involving "everyone else" in the GlueX collaboration or in the 
online mailing list
in every purchase for Hall D is not a reasonable thing to do.
