* SOTR training is coming up. One-time training, no renewal necessary
* all work in the hall or in a test set-up needs documentation,
either OSP, TOSP, or a Hall D List entry
Announcements, Eugene
* Report of the Tribble committee released today
+ Meeting with Mont on Wed. to review Lab perspective
* last week, dry run for Director's basis-of-estimate presentation
+ all CAMs reported
+ real DOE review at beginning of May
+ one month before that, Director's review
* working also on re-baselining
+ we can re-do schedule
+ cannot go over new budget
* change request was delayed due to hang-up with Hall C
+ this has now been overcome, we have to re-do our change
request because things have changed in the interim
+ need to prioritize tasks, Claus wants a manpower plan
+ online tasks
o too much for current manpower
o after detectors built, people will turn to online issues
Engineering, Eugene
* first 2 slabs of tagger magnet arrived, the rest will come this
week
* tagger vacuum chamber will be delivered next week
* leak developed in 4th coil of solenoid at the 10^−2 Torr level
+ patched, was in the port for vacuum vessel relief mechanism
+ after test, magnet will be warmed and a permanent repair
affected
* they started liquefaction at cryo plant, there was a problem with
compressors
* OSP for electrical for solenoid test is needed[?]
FDC, Beni, Lubomir
* package 4 testing
+ one strip a problem, at the edge
+ other problems minor, bad contact at pre-amp card
* ready to test next package
* one chamber had to be opened, high noise level on one wire and
associated cluster of strips
+ nothing found, wire cleaned and chamber closed
* new package ready on Friday
* spare wire frames: one more to make
* 50% of spare cathodes done
Calorimetry, Elton, John
* stacking FCAL assemblies beyond the 10% mark
+ things are going smoothly, some shimming being done as planned
+ a third person started today
+ Bert: need a Hall D List entry for this work
* BCAL: 1.5 modules done
+ Tina Mann working full-time
+ Bobby Benton started this morning
+ 1/2 module will be done today, about 1/2 of expected rate
+ Hall D List needs an entry, documentation in preparation
+ goal: one full module per day
o do-able if other work was not required
o might be tight with on y 2 people
* bias low voltage redone for long modules
* BCAL light guides
+ 3 of 20 did not fit, chosen from a random batch
+ spot checks done on each batch, one that had trouble here had
been checked at USM
o did not pass go-no-go gauge test
+ not limiting us right now
+ all should be checked at USM
* BCAL read-out boards almost done
+ jumpers for bias installed
Time-of-Flight, Mark
* assembly of mini-TOF should be start this week
* all PMTs received from Hamamatsu, most of them tested
Start Counter, Mark
* ordering more bent prototype counters from Eljen underway
* machining will be done at McNeal
* Werner Boeglin will produce a draft assembly and QA document today,
for inclusion in the proposal for the construction contract
Beamline, Sascha
* The readiness review at UConn will be Feb. 7
+ a wiki page has been created, relevant documents linked to it
* fixed array contract
+ CUA in contact with procurement
+ Franz working on procedure and QA document
+ send in PR for fixed array PMTs
* Vladimir Popov has ordered PCB for pre-amp prototype
+ will have it this week
+ will tweak and tun components
+ reference document posted on DocDB
* pair spectrometer
+ ordered fixture for gluing fibers to tiles
* meeting with accelerator
+ next one in Feb. to review specs
+ ACC responsible for active collimator controls
o 8 cables from pre-amps
o they have some funds to put on the project
+ ion chambers
o design and costing being done by ACC
Electronics, Fernando
* received 60% of the FADC-250s from UMass
+ they expected to be done by now, but March looks realistic
* setting up electronics in data center
+ crate and chassis
+ all HV, LV
+ 17 crates of FADCs
+ all ready to be tested
* need to know jumper settings for FADC-250s
* two weeks ago, visited FADC-125 company
+ received 1st article of mezzanine boards, both models
+ tests being set-up
+ main board to be delivered at end of this week
+ starting to receive FADC-125s, 40 modules so far[?]
* need some TDCs to send to CMU
* Dave Abbott want a test set-up for 10 crates
* Hovanes wants documentation on the modules we will use for data
acquisition
+ no manpower available for its production

+ 5 consoles with two tiers of screens

o 9 TB file-server, expandable to 23 TB @ 1 k$/TB
+ gathering quotes for raid, plan: two 72 TB units

+ can we wait until May to piggy back on HPC order?
o potential savings of 30%
+ working on requirements for database, web servers
+ archiving EPICS variables using mya from ACC will cost 55 k$
