Eugene
* A federal tax form will come in the mail. You must declare whether
or not you have health insurance.
* from Rolf: with the rise in the limit for new capital projects from
$2M to $5M, there may have to be some reshuffling of funds, budget-wise
o this may cause a problem with the calorimeter plug
* K-long workshop will be held next week; all are welcome
* Alexander ...[?]... has accepted the post-doc position, will start
in May
o search for the next post-doc position will start soon
David
* working on implementing beginning of run record change and related
bookkeeping
* Eugene: would like statistics on data errors
Elton
* Wrote note comparing SiPM parameters between JLab and Santa Maria
(UTFSM)
o generally good agreement
o UTFSM: lower gain, 25%
o PDE differences above 1.2 V over breakdown
o dark rates in agreement, internal inconsistencies in UTFSM data
o cross talk measurements agree
* gave colloquium at Hampton U.
o we should have closer ties with local universities
Sergey
* performance of Event Builder (EB) fixed in CODA 3.05
* new problem: in cosmics, EB crash intermittently, hours to days
* see F125 read-out problems, seen decoding data
o with 1 kHz monitoring can only sample
* also working on begin of run events
Simon
* more work on study of multi-photon final states
o will expand to pi+ and pi-
* doing simulations for K long workshop
* analyzing recent field-off runs
Alexandre
* working on the run plan
* analyzing beamline data from the Fall run
* submitted the review paper last week
* preparing a seminar at U. of Kentucky
Sascha
* studying multiple trigger performance
o bit patterns being produced now, available offline
o tested on BCAL-LED/cosmic trigger
* FADC back in PS crate
* hardware trigger energies compare well with offline
* emulation of FCAL
* pair spectrometer, 5 bad channels, down from 80
* organizing workshop for nuclear target in GlueX in April or May
* tagger trigger:
o data taken
o cosmic test OK
o Hai Dong and Ben Raydo working on Aurora serialization, could
save 240 ns in trigger latency
Dmitry
* Discussion on offline access to online data, RCDB vs. CCDB
* RCDB work:
o C++ interface to RCDB almost there
o adding masked channel tables to RCDB
o looking at variables proposed by Sean Dobbs
o writing command-line interface, select runs based on
user-specified conditions
o to handle DAQ crashes with no clean end-of-run, write
intermediate results
* CCDB work:
o working on bug reports
o Sean found problem with Python 2.71, not present in 2.76
Zhenyu
* looking at beam asymmetry for gamma p -> gamma gamma p
o see pi0, eta peaks
* gave a tour of Hall D to some visitors
Mark I.
* working on paper software review materials
* new release: sim-recon, v 1.9.0
* gave talk on issues around offline access to RCDB vs. CCDB at
software meeting
* discussed Lustre problems (lost files, outages) with SciComp folks
* extension of documentation on version management system
* fielding git questions from collaborators
Paul
* overhaul of kinematic fitter
o done, needs testing
* physics analysis workshop
o organizing with Justin and Sean
o speakers: Joe Dudek, Curtis Meyer, others...
o Wed.-Fri of week of May 9
* CLAS analysis
Beni
* F125 flash, data scanning program
o looked at last weekend's data
o 3 bad events found in CDC
o looking at old data as well
* solenoid cold, 50% full
Lubomir
* fixed HV channel using a wooden stick
o dark current was reduced, stable
* looking at cosmic data, so far so good
* preparing TRD for run
* preparing for Vienna Wire Chamber Conference (that is not named that
anymore)
Mark D.
* looking at cosmics Beni took
o looking for LED pulser triggers using TS marking in events
Hovanes
* updating solenoid EPICS variables, vacuum-related mostly
o configuration is not maintainable
o will go to scheme used by other PLC-based EPICS variables after
the run
* FADC scalers
o with Paul and Sergey, avoiding crashes of the server process
* working on beam scan improvements
* FCAL HV alarms not responding when communication module turned off
o work with Elton and Adesh Subedi
* developing interlock for TAC
o high-rate triggers retraction
o check done that rate is being measured (HV on, etc.) to fail safe
* installing GUIs for target, polarimeter in main display
