  Hall D Staff Meeting, June 12, 2017

    Announcements

 From Eugene:

  * Physics thinks we can survive FY18, budget-wise
      o Research budget will have to be cut
      o 10 weeks of operations still in the plan
      o capital spending frozen
          + we can spend for DIRC, 1/4 to 1/2 of one box
  * Cryo group making progress with compressor
      o schedule is tight
  * readiness review for PrimEx
      o issues last time: CompCal, target
          + Cryo group managed to liquefy helium
          + got to super-fluid, but that is not possible for normal
            operations
      o review passed with recommendations
          + need to be addressed by end of July


    Issues for the October Run

  * Hovanes: DAQ for solenoid
      o PXI module hangs, needs multiple reboots, but then OK...
      o spare exists
  * Lubomir: FDC threshold segmentation
      o $15 k
  * David and Sergey: New RAID
      o $26 k
      o not needed if rate not increased, can go to 650 MB/s
  * Hovanes: DIRC and PrimEx requirement finalization for slow
    controls/EPICS
      o Sascha: PrimEx
          + Hall C guys working on it
          + PMTs by Aug., crystals by Aug.
          + conceptual design for box in place
          + electronics: some assembly required
          + nothing for this run
  * Elton: CPP
      o UMass has full-scale prototype
      o will bring down this summer, install behind forward carriage
      o Tim needs a plan/budget
  * Lubomir: TRD
      o modify to increase drift distance
      o will run again
  * Sasha: firmware
      o work starts middle of July
      o 4 ns shift:
          + Ben Raydo busy with Hall B guys
          + fix not guaranteed


    Data Analysis

  * Thomas: 2017 data
      o last monitoring launch done, final checks in progress, should
        start in a few days
  * Lubomir: 2016 data, version 6
      o J/ψ width increased from 8 to 13 MeV, missing proton, kinematic fit
  * Simon can check the multi-photon survey, and multi-photons with π^+ π^−
