  * Announcements (Eugene)
      o CHL2 down
          + transformer failed this morning, switch made to CHL1
          + can run 4 K for both linacs
          + spare transformer was out for repair, will be delivered tomorrow
      o FY18 budget has arrived
          + can spend against it now
          + ordering 70 k$ of FADC-250s
          + thinking about spare parts for crates
      o New accelerator associate director: Andrei Seryi
          + New deputy: Mike Spata
      o 2K cold box in final review
          + installation in 2020, 6-7 month down period
      o Solid detector cost estimate in: approx. 60 M$
      o Cooling water repair done today
          + Beni: successful
              # Upstream BCAL chiller had problem, replaced, new one
                won't turn on
          + FM hoped for bad cable as root cause of water problem
              # if not got to alternate scheme until winter
      o DIRC optical box delayed, due in Aug. 12
          + Plan: fill with water, leak check
          + schedule very tight
  * Preparations for Run
      o long list of items from Tim
          + cryo box on magnet almost empty, but refrigerator started
          + solenoid HCO on Wed.
          + vacuum by 8/17
  * Sergey
      o old and new file servers in hand
      o waiting for Sascha's work to complete before switching
  * Sascha
      o last week cosmics taken
          + new ROCCDC1 did not work, reverted firmware to old version
          + ran BCAL cosmic trigger
      o working on new firmware for DIRC SSP
          + firmware like Hall B RICH
          + having library compatibility problems
          + trying to unify libraries with Ben Raydo
          + trigger SSP needs modification
      o ready to start the run
      o DIRC: special crate, optical connection there
          + lacks SSP read-out
          + LED system going in, CAEN 1495 used to drive LEDs
          + will be ready for run
      o CompCal
          + 10 FADCs in crate, connected to read-out
          + Needs connection to trigger system, Ben will do that after
            finishing DIRC
          + CAEN 1495, LED system installed
  * Sergey
      o Plan is to move to new file server
      o will test new high-performance CODA
      o also working on C version
  * David
      o computers restarted today
      o new run period set up
      o GUIs on workstations lock up under RHEL7
  * Hovanes
      o gluon29, host of soft IOCs, crashed
      o won't start, moved IOCs to gluon30
      o may have to re-arrange applications, alarm server was running there
      o David: seems really dead, two PSs for redundancy and neither works
      o gluon49 is also dead, but that happened a long, long time ago
  * Beni
      o chambers: turning them on, communication with HV an issue,
        problems restoring voltages
          + Hovanes: IOC host ran out of memory today
      o BCAL LV crate failed, PS replaced, no more spares
          + everything back on
      o TAC removed from Hall
          + in EEL, Ashot Gasparian will take a look at it
          + goes back to Hall 7/14
      o Lubomir Pentchev checked FDC before his vacation, sees signals
      o left a set of voltages to use
  * Mark D.
      o took data with BCAL, SiPMs working
      o need chillers to work
      o FCAL: Colin Gleason has 20 bases to replace
  * Alex A.
      o full reconstruction of 2016 and 2017 underway
      o using LQCD nodes on loan, and new nodes purchased for farm
      o 80% of 2016 done, all of 2017 workfest
      o analysis launch started on workfest data
      o last week: 500 bad jobs, got only 2 GB of 20 GB input file
        transferred, only 1% of total processing
      o will start complete 2017 in next few days, should take 20 days
      o running 800 jobs at a time now (no new nodes at present)
  * Mark I.
      o sim-recon git repository split into two separate repositories
        last week
      o no major problems so far
  * David
      o NERSC test: Chris Larrieu back, want to get beyond 20 jobs at a
        time
          + limited by disk space
          + goal: monitoring launch on 2018 Spring data
          + outgoing bandwidth of only 100-200 MB/s seen
  * Sascha
      o CompCal to Hall, need to schedule move
      o 120 of 140 modules assembled
      o frame will be ready by end of month
      o Hovanes: movable stage tested at high level by Vanik
  * Hovanes
      o CompCal, DIRC controls will have to be done during 3 week break
        in Nov.
      o Other controls in good shape
      o will work on gluon29/30 today
      o Vanik coming: will fix CompCal GUI, test motion system
      o DIRC: work for Vanik
          + HV system: no GUI yet
          + LV system: there is a bug, no GUI yet
              # MPOD lost to spare pool
          + water and gas system done by Nick Sandoval
          + request for readout of temp for each board, scalers for each
            channel
              # will need working system to develop these
  * Beni
      o solenoid PXI needs looking at
  * Sascha
      o 2 pair spect. channels fixed
