    Hall D Staff Meeting, October 15, 2018

  * Announcements (Eugene)
      o Joe Scarcello has retired from the Lab. The new CFO is Jennifer
        Logan.
      o Budget for NP for FY19 up 6 M$ to 690 M$. Portion to Lab not
        known yet.
          + There will be a budget review here Oct. 19
      o University contracts will require more documentation
      o You have to apply for foreign travel approval even if the cost
        of the trip is being paid by others.
      o Appraisal process has started
          + Above average scores on core expectations on self-evaluation
            will require detailed written explanation
      o Registration for ORCID

        is encouraged
      o Summer running
          + Hall A will run, for PREX
          + Hall B will want to run HPS at 5 passes
          + Hall D can run at 5.5 GeV
          + Hall C may run for a short period, not at same time as Hall D
          + Hall D running
              # Need 2 weeks to make it worth it
              # Measure known cross section at low energy, calibration
                exercise
              # Collaboration will have to discuss plans
  * CompCal installation
      o Tim:
          + dark box will be closed by weekend
          + bring detector to Hall next week
          + if break in running now
              # hookup other ladder
              # start on water panel
          + PVC beam pipe: parts all in, thin windows[?]
      o Sascha:
          + detector will be ready this week
          + in Hall: first test plumbing
      o Beni:
          + 1.5 day break in schedule (missing now?) could be used for
            installation
  * Run schedule, Elton
      o run until 11/26, then switch to CompCal commissioning?
      o Eugene:
          + want 3 weeks of CompCal commissioning before break
          + 3 day down after high energy running over
          + no DIRC
          + answer question: is PrimEx ready to run?
          + central FCAL not calibrated but needed for Compton acceptance
          + idea: install during day, run at night during high-energy
            period
              # buys more testing time at low energy
          + collaboration agreed schedule: CompCal installation 19 Nov.
            to 3 Dec.
