    Announcements, Eugene

Items from the managers' meeting

  * when restarting operations, TOSPs will need to mention social distancing
  * LDRD budget has increased from 0.9 to 1.7 M$
  * budget outlook for 2021 not bad
  * JLab collecting ideas for possible CEBAF upgrade
      o increased energy an option
      o Stepan Stepanyan organizing this
  * HR has not been responsive to inquiries
      o with the exception of those from Tim
  * ideas are solicited for Hall D procurements for this year, please
    send to Eugene
      o FCAL upgrade problematic, must be capital money


    PrimEx data processing, Sascha

  * close to ready
  * making progress
  * finalizing calibrations for FCAL, BCAL, CCAL, TOF
  * starting second monitoring launch this or next week
  * Igal has an analysis scheme ready to go
  * Sascha working on CCAL analysis, luminosity systematics
  * Chandra Akondi moving to FSU, will continue to work on GlueX
      o Sascha helping in search for his replacement at NC A&T
  * This summer will likely replace active bases on CCAL


    GlueX reconstruction of data from recent run

  * Beni: Alex Austregesilo has announced first monitoring launch complete
  * Elton: Karthik completed BCAL calibrations last Friday


    J/ψ cross section, Lubomir

  * finalizing energy dependence of cross section
  * will start writing analysis note
  * then start on paper
  * questions from workfest and tracking meeting answered
  * Eugene asked about muon data
      o still in some tension with electron result
      o uses flux for normalization, not Bethe-Heitler


    Crystals Received, Eugene

  * a batch has arrived
  * Sascha expects them to arrive in two batches


    Walk-Throughs, Tim

  * daily walk-throughs continue to be conducted, log entries made each time
  * RAID in counting room alarming, gluonraid3
      o Sergey: one disk failed, if another fails data will be lost
      o need to see if computer center can replace the failed disk
  * nitrogen ice ball has been dealt with, harshly
  * CDC gas alarmed, alarm level lowered
      o Beni: monitoring CDC gas, has been stable


    FCAL Upgrade Procurement, Sascha

  * light guides and flanges need to be procured


    JLab Calendar access, Beni

  * cannot view after desktop reboot, authentication through office phone
  * Simon was able to forward office phone to his home for authentication


    SRC Readiness Review, Sascha

  * slides are being put together for a possible remote review
  * neutron studies will be presented
  * hoping for beginning of May
  * RSAD request sent to Pawel Degtiarenko
  * Need PDL to help with safety documentation: Beni or Lubomir
  * March 21 was the original date
  * Eugene Pasyuk chair of the review committee


    PAC Meeting, Eugene

  * scheduled for summer, will likely be held in some form
  * GlueX and JEF subject to jeopardy
      o might ask for more time
  * KLF will come back for full approval
      o Hovanes will be Hall D contact person
  * Sasha: JEF needs a backup plan if GlueX fails jeopardy since running
    time not awarded for a stand-alone JEF run
