  Hall D Staff Meeting, February 22, 2022

Present: Alexander Austregesilo, Eugene Chudakov (chair), Mark Dalton, 
Alexandre Deur, Hovanes Egiyan, Sergey Furletov, Mark Ito, Igal Jaegle, 
Keigo Mizutani, Lubomir Pentchev, Simon Taylor, Tim Whitlatch, Beni

    Announcements, Eugene

  * Accelerator purchased a new laser hoping for less bleed-through.
    Unfortunately that was not a success.
  * Property validation has been extended to the end of April
  * There may be new rules on travel authorizations, even for domestic,
    local, non-fee-collecting events. Collaboration meetings are not
    expected to be included.
  * There will be a budget briefing by Thia Keppel tomorrow[?].
  * Hybrid work will be supported by the Lab in the future.


    Software Responsibilities, Eugene

  * Mark I. will be retiring from the Lab on April 8.
  * Eugene sent around a list of software-related responsibilities that
    will be taken on by Mark's successors.
  * Alex A. will call a meeting to discuss the topic further.


    Work in the Hall, Tim

  * The magnet is cold
      o An additional turbo pump has been added for the insulating
        vacuum to reduce severity of vacuum bursts
  * CPP installation
      o All steel and muon chambers have been installed in the Hall
      o Spatial tolerances of no more that 2 mm from nominal were achieved
      o Gas system is getting installed
  * Ongoing maintenance: chillers and cooling systems
  * *Power Outage, Hall and Counting House, March 1*
      o heat tests on all circuit breaker boxes
      o at some point all systems will see power interruption
      o systems on UPS power will stay up (though input power to UPSs
        may be interrupted)


    Cell Phones, Hovanes

  * New ones are needed in several cases.
  * Hovanes will check with Morgan Anderson on a replacement for the
    Slow Controls phone.
  * Mark D. will do the same with respect to the Run Coordinator phone.
