Folks,
I was motivated to the delete those two releases (see my previous
message) because we had run out of space on the group disk this morning.
Our releases are getting bigger and accumulating; that is the main
contributor.
I requested and was granted another 5 GB of space this morning. We have
gone from 40 GB to 45 GB.
In looking through the disk I found some anomalies:
There is about 1 GB owned by user id 500. This is probably stuff copied
from various folks personal linux boxes. It would be nice to have
ownership normalized. Please arrange this if the stuff belongs to you.
See the attached file 500.txt for a partial list of directories.
Same problem with user id 4338. Sadly I suspect this this may be Ravi's
stuff (I'm not sure). We need to find a new owner. See 4388.txt, attached.
There are some directories that are not group readable. They should be
made so. See denied.txt, attached.
Finally, if you can look at stuff you own and clean up a bit, that would
be nice. I found a bunch of my files that I was able to delete. A
megabyte here, a megabyte there, pretty soon...
