      IT Division Maintenance Period Set for April 17, 5-8 p.m.

The IT Division is having a maintenance period on Tuesday, April 17, 5-8 
p.m. During this time, network switches will be upgraded in the Test 
Lab, the LERF Bldg. and the CEBAF Center 3rd F wing. The upgrades will 
cause all phones, desktops and wireless access to be down for about 15 
minutes per switch upgrade. The outages will start at around 5:30 p.m., 
and everything should be back online by 8 p.m. Updates to centrally 
managed CUE software, such as Firefox, will be released to all managed 
desktops. Finally, all Windows and Linux patches will be released to 
managed desktops and servers. There will be intermittent outages of 
central services overnight, such as webservers and login servers, while 
the underlying servers are rebooted to finalize patch installation. Plan 
on rebooting your Windows or Linux desktop by COB on Friday, April 20, 
to finalize patch installations on your desktop. If you have any
