Hi,
I took another look at this. My current suspicion is that the data from the f250 may be corrupted.
I re-ran it with one parsing thread and verbosity turned up to 8 to see the full details. Specifically:
hd_ana -PEVIO:NTHREADS=1 -PEVIO:VERBOSE=8 -PAUTOACTIVATE=DBCALHit /gluex/data/rawdata/all/Run070822/hd_rawdata_070822_000.evio
The few lines printed before the error were:
FADC250 Pulse Data (0xc8d58193) channel=11 pedestal=403 event within block=26
FADC250 Pulse Data word 2(0x40b3800e) integral=2872
FADC250 Pulse Data word 3(0x4130380) course_time=32 fine_time=38 pulse_peak=112
FADC250 Pulse Data (0xc8dd0191) channel=10 pedestal=401 event within block=27
FADC250 Pulse Data word 2(0x40bba016) integral=3002
FADC250 Pulse Data word 3(0x41003c8) course_time=32 fine_time=32 pulse_peak=121

There’s only 2 ways to get the "Bad f250 Pulse Data for rocid=…” line printed:
1. If there is a mode 9 continuation word (bit 31 not set) immediately followed by a word that does not have bit 30 set.
2. There is a 4th continuation word with bit 31 not set, but bit 30 set immediately following continuation word 3 that
has bit 31 and bit 30 both not set.
From what I see in the documentation, neither of these should ever happen. Perhaps there was a firmware change
that I’m unaware of that allows this(?).
If I turn off parsing of f250 data via the -PEVIOPARSE_F250=0 arg then it seems to go through the rest of the
file OK. This suggests that CODA formatting is OK and the other types of modules are all also OK.
Is this any chance a new firmware version is on the BCAL fADC250 that introduced a new bug?
Regards,
-David

I see same error on file 000. Too tired to make sense of it tonight. Will have as look tomorrow.
I can say that it looks like the entire 20GB file has been copied to tape correctly so it is not as
file truncation issue.

File 001 from that same run is OK so far. Haven't reached the end of it but it didn't fail instantly like file 000 did, so that's hopeful.

Hi Naomi,

I just run over _000.evio and it looks like the file is corrupted or something. my code just quits showing only 3 events
However with file *_001.evio it works.
I do this on ifarm1801

Hi,
I already have the current master of halld_recon and the latest ccdb and rcdb. Do I need to update anything else in order to run hd_root over the newest data? I'm seeing the error pasted below for just one of the new evio files, the file following it looks ok so far (I haven't reached the end of it yet). I cannot remember what owns rocid 37.
Naomi.
