Dear friends,

You might have heard about the TED conferences (TED stands for
Technology, Entertainment, Design), where
intellectual/artistic/inspirational leaders of the (usually western)
world get 18+2 minutes to present their world-changing ideas.  On the
website ted.com you can look at videos of a huge selection of these
talks.  They are among the most interesting and inspirational videos
on the web, and they probably beat TV too.  Tickets to this TED
conference are however $5k per person (and they sell out in a few
days)...

Fortunately, there is now a cheaper alternative: NASA Langley is
organizing such a TED conference independently.  For free.  And within
walking distance from JLab (*).  On this coming Friday, from 10am
until 7pm there are talks by 20+ authors, scientists, artists, etc;
everything in the Ferguson Center on the CNU campus.

More info (and free printable tickets):

Cheers,
Wouter

(*) Not strictly true, because you have to cross Jefferson Avenue.
