[Halld-online] Hall D Network Fiber Specifications

Hi,

Mark D and I based this recommendation on the information we were able 
to collect concerning network needs in the hall.  Please verify we 
haven't missed anything.  We note that we have no information about some 
rack areas (see the wiki page), nor do we have any information about 
where multi-mode fiber connections to the Rack Room are needed (n.b. all 
telecom fibers in the proposal are single-mode).

Once everyone agrees on the number of fibers to run and the fiber patch 
panel locations we'll work with the Networking group and Facilities to 
get the fibers installed.  Until then we will implement low-bandwidth 
interim networking to any area in the hall that needs it.

Please get comments back to us ASAP as we hope to begin the procurement 
process soon.  Even if we can't get a PO through I'm hoping we can get 
Shields to walk the fiber paths and get us a firm quote.
