Hi All,
I have made some changes to the default environment on the gluon cluster you should be aware of:
1. I have checked out and built the commissioning branches of both sim-recon and hdds in /gluex/sim-recon
The /gluex/etc/hdonline.cshrc file has been updated to now use these as the default. If you log into any of
the hdops or hdsys accounts, the environment will be configured to use the commissioning branch. If you
wish to switch back to the latest trunk version do the following:
> setup sim-recon-latest
To switch back to the commissioning build (of if in an old terminal that is already logged in):
> setup sim-recon-commissioning
2. Merged in changes to the DAQ and rawevent plugins from the trunk to the commissioning branch. These
tend to be in a state of high flux and will likely remain so through the commissioning period so folks should
keep in mind that they may fall out of alignment with the trunk for brief periods.
3. I added a crontab for the hdsys account on gluonraid1 (I’ll duplicate it for gluonraid2 once it has run
successfully for a while). This will now automatically copy any files dropped into the
/gluonraid1/rawdata/RunPeriod-2014-10 directory to tape. It may take up to 20 minutes for the copy
to initiate. For details on the system, see the wiki page here:
https://halldweb1.jlab.org/wiki/index.php/Raid-to-Silo_Transfer_Strategy
4. I renamed .cshrc to .tcshrc in the hdsys account.
Regards,
-David
