Hi All,
This morning I have made several changes on the gluon cluster
that potentially could affect others. Here is a summary:
1. Switched to the latest git repository version of sim-recon
and hdds. Up to now the default was still a subversion version from
6 months ago.
2. Renamed /gluex/sim-recon/sim-recon-latest to
/gluex/sim-recon/sim-recon-subversion
3. Renamed /gluex/sim-recon/hdds-latest to
/gluex/sim-recon/hdds-subversion
4. Removed old /gluex/sim-recon/sim-recon-prod link. This
was pointing to the sim-recon-commissioning directory
which has long been deprecated.
5. Moved the following into a new directory /gluex/sim-recon/DEPRECATED
hdds-commissioning
hdds-old-trunk
hdds-2.1
sim-recon-commissioning
sim-recon-old-trunk
6. Updated /gluex/builds/devel/packages from repository
and rebuilt against new sim-recon default
7. Switched to JANA version 0.7.3. We had been using
an untagged version somewhere between 0.7.2 and 0.7.3
8. Set the HTTPS_PROXY and HTTP_PROXY environment variables
in /gluex/etc/hdonline.cshrc . This is needed for accessing
the outside internet such as is required by git to pull
from github.
9. Copied latest version of CCDB sqlite file into
/gluex/sim-recon/ccdb_sqlite and updated the
/gluex/sim-recon/ccdb_pro.sqlite link to point to it.
I went ahead and deleted all of the 2014 sqlite files
from this directory. Please note that the default
JANA_CALIB_URL and CCDB_CONNECTION settings are (and have
been for a while) pointing to a MySQL replication of the
CCDB on gluondb1. Therefore it is always up to date.
The sqlite files are no longer used on the gluons as far
as I know.
10. As noted in a separate message yesterday, we switched to
CODA 3.05 as a default. As a result, programs using ET,
cMsg, and EVIO should probably be recompiled. These all
use shared libraries and the CODA 3.05 versions will now be
loaded potentially leading to unexpected results.
If you notice any strange behavior that could be related to
these changes, please let me know.
Regards,
-David
