Installation of a new circuit on the UPS required it to be powered down today resulting in a number of gluon computers having power shut off abruptly. The Hall-D work coordinator (Tom) was notified and he will add David L. to the list of those notified if a UPs outage is planned in the future.
One result of the incident is it highlighted which computers are connected to the UPS and which ones aren't. Below is a list of computers that reported rebooting as a result of the UPS outage and so are powered through the UPS. Notably missing are gluonraid1, gluonraid2, and gluonraid3. These have redundant failover supplies with one supply plugged into wall power and the other into UPS. Therefore they are both UPS protected and protected from UPS failure. Also of note is that the older farm nodes (gluon100-gluon111) are all on "wall" power while the newer ones (gluon112-gluon119) are all on UPS. The policy on these will be revisited. Also missing from the list are gluonweb(=gluon24) and gluondb1(=gluon25)
