GlueX PID Meeting, September 3, 2010
Minutes

      * JLab: Eugene Chudakov, Hovanes Egiyan, Mark Ito (chair), Elton
        Smith, Sascha Somov, Simon Taylor

      * FSU: Sasha Ostrovidov

New PMT's at FSU

Sasha O. reported that two PMT's with bases from Hamamatsu have
arrived, one with anode output only, one with anode and dynode output.
Their gains are listed by Hamamatsu as 4.4X10^6 and 5.3X10^6. They are
    being tested now.

FSU MOU

Yesterday, Elton called a meeting to discuss the TOF contruction cost
and schedule, and the MOU with FSU. Elton put together a [20]Fastrack
schedule which is available on the DocDB. We are very close to moving
ahead with approvals on the JLab side. Paul will send out a new version
    of the MOU soon.

Splitters

Mark reported that Fernando Barbosa is making splitters of various
proportions and inverters to send to FSU for testing.

Prototype

    Sasha O. gave a report.
      * He wants to compare the various signal splitting schemes.
      * The new trigger system is working and can take higher rate from the
DAQ point of view. With the current trigger paddles however, the
        rate remains low. daq-wise.
      * The new trigger paddles are in hand. The next step is to move the
test set-up out of the light-tight box, wrap the counters and light
guides to make the unit light-tight, configure them to use the new
        higher-rate trigger scheme.
      * He has received Ben Raydo's discriminator module and is doing tests
to compare performance with the Philips unit he has been using.
Control software was written to do this. Initial indications are
that the JLab unit is better.
      * Fernando has also promised to send a FADC unit to FSU.
