[Halld-tagger] Tagger hall plans

For TAGH I would like to finish the cable connections downstream of the microscope and test the whole array using the installed electronics (at least using the CAEN-HV boxes). If possible, I'd like to do it some time next week.
Greetings,
Franz

Will do. Can you provide us with enough lemo cables and a splitter to connect 15 outputs at a time to the crate, and read out both the fadc and tdc at the same time?

Hi Fernando,
I tink that testing of TAGM should be done in the ESB. If the
detector components are here in the beginning of September,
it would take at least a week or two to assemble the TAGM. We
may consider to move the detector to the Hall just to check that
evrt fits and bring it back to the ESB.
Richard should return the VXS crate, which we can install into
the existing rack in the ESB. We'll need a control Wiener crate
and some spare cables to read out one or two fadcs.
Cheers,
Alex

Fernando,
I am going to propose that we set things up in the ESB area when we arrive,
and do what setup and testing we can there prior to the move-in date in the
first week of October or thereabouts. Any objections?

Hi Richard, Alex,
We will start removing the electronics from the tagger hall on 22 Sept
2014 in preparation for beam on 29 Sept 2014. All the cables will be
disconnected from the modules but remain in place with the mini-racks; we
then remove the crates/chassis with the modules and move them to a safe
place, probably the ESB.
You have indicated that you will be bringing the TAGM to JLab during the
week of 9/1. In view of this, you only have two weeks (weeks of 9/8 and
9/15) to install, connect and test the TAGM. Is this enough time to do any
significant work (setup software, controls, readout, etc)? Or should we
plan to work in the ESB, which allows limited testing (limited number of
cables, no 208V for the crates so power is an issue anywhere outside of the
tagger hall)?
Please work out a viable plan and let me know ASAP. If we are not going to
do anything in the tagger hall, we could go ahead and start removing the
electronics earlier so we are not rushing later.
Best regards,
Fernando
