Dear colleagues,
Here are brief notes from the RC meeting this morning taken in
Alexandre's absence.
Subsystem homework for tomorrow (placed first in case you don't read to
the end of these notes):
- Report tomorrow at RC meeting the status of each subdetector based on
analysis of data taken last week.
o Beam status
- Halls A and B received beam over the weekend.
- Hall A is still taking tune beam. Hall B received cw beam with
relatively good quality, but further optic studies are still needed for
the fine beam required for HPS.
- Extraction and separation is still a work in progress and only Hall A
will be receiving beam this week.
- Hall D is nominally scheduled to start back on Tuesday swing, but we
will probably not be ready till Wed.
o Work in tagger hall (see logs)
- Nick replaced electronics into the hall on Saturday
- The MPOD mini crate fan is not functional (no spares). They are
temporarily using a full size crate, but spacial arrangements need to be
made to accommodate the larger crate.
- One optical cable is damaged; needs to be repaired
- Alex has looked at signals and everything looks ok so far. Needs to
work with Sasha to get the DAQ up and running. Plan to do this today.
- Tom will help with neutron shielding tomorrow morning if Alex is ready
for them.
o Changes to beam configuration:
- Move profile monitor from its upstream position in the collimator back
to the photon dump for survey.
-- Have the profile monitor surveyed in place, scribe position.
-- Return the profile to the collimator to start the next run with
essentially the same configuration as we had on Friday.
-- Once re-established the beam position when beam returns, the profiler
can be placed back at the dump to check transmission.
- Leave active target in place
- Take out PS converter ladder
-- Check location of converters/wire compared to GUI and drawings.
-- Replace the thinnest converter (10 microns) with a thick converter
(400-500 microns)
-- Replace the harp wires (currently 200 microns) with thicker wires
(~400 microns)
-- Take photos of final configuration before reinsertion into position.
o Offline monitoring (Kei)
- All 900 files have been processed and ROOT files produced.
- Kei will send around information regarding the location of processed data
- These can be compared to online histograms
o Timing signals (work before next run)
- CAEN TDC timing relative to FADCs for TOF needs firmware upgrade to
the TS.
- Trigger signals need to be timed into the TDCs so that they can serve
as a reference for F1 and CAEN modules (Beni).
o List of runs to date
- Elton will try to get a list either by using automated scripts, or by
hand.
