Hi All,
I just came from the 9:00 accelerator meeting. Things are still progressing well.
The beam has made it to 9R and they believe it is back to the same condition as
when it went off on Mar. 4th. They are currently focussing on increasing the
total power of the beam to 900kW in order to meet the simultaneous Hall-C
and Hall-A needs for the final 2 weeks of the run. They are at about 760kW right
now.
Regarding Hall-D, they are still hopeful that they will be able to deliver beam to us
sometime during swing shift, but that will depend very much on their progress
throughout the day today. As such, shifts will remain on stand-by until 4pm.
Shift takers should plan on manning shifts starting at 4pm today. I will contact the
accelerator at 3pm for a status report and evaluate if any change is warranted
at that time.
If you have any questions please contact me on the RC phone (757) 383-5542.
Regards,
-David (Acting R.C.)
