Dear colleagues,
You have probably read the director's mail today. The Lab is planning to resume accelerator operations this summer.
Let me add a few words concerning the Hall D plans.
One should assume that beam operations will last 6 weeks. This will compensate for the time lost in the spring run. Hall D will continue running GlueX, as was initially planned for the spring.
There is still a lot of schedule uncertainty. Tentatively, one may assume that the Lab will start more or less regular work by June 1. The accelerator will be able to start delivering beam for physics in about 4 weeks - by the end of June.
It is very likely that the manpower available for doing shifts will be similar to what we had during MEDCON5 at the end of the spring run. We are going to use the same shift arrangement as we used during that week - 1 person, 6h shifts. Those who are close enough to take shifts - please let Beni know. We will also need 6 RCs. Keep in mind - the exact time interval for running is still uncertain.
Best regards,
Eugene
