[Halld] Hall D RC Daily Report 24 Nov 2021

Dear collaborators/colleagues/friends,

not sure if it is customary for a daily report in Hall D (as is in Hall A/C), but I like to report the day especially for colleagues not physically in the lab.


  *   Accelerator
  *   around noon, the work on separator 4 was completed -->  https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3949383

  *   Experiment/Hall
     *   since yesterday (Tuesday) the solenoid was being ramped down in preparation for target change from Cryotarget to Carbon --> https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3948956
     *   early today morning the work in the target started, finalizing around noon --> https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3949361 and  https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3949413
     *   small programmed reparation work at FCAL to replace 6 bases -->  https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3949385
     *   the solenoid was started to ramp up immediately by Beni --> https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3949367 and FDC HV set by Lubomir --> https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3949376
     *   at 14:00 Elton directed the walkthrough for 5 people
     *   at 18:50 MCC informed they were ready to deliver beam to the hall, proceeding with tune beam and harp scans finalizing  ~21:20 -->https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3949769
     *   After some issues of crates communication (mainly ps_client) and Sasha magic, the system was ready to start production (although some optimization will be applied tomorrow). --> https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3949842 and https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3949854
     *   Attached is a nice picture showing the reconstruction of the 8 carbon foils and the team (Lubomir remotely) present when the magic happened.

  *   Run Plan
     *   run on carbon at 150nA
     *   run 250M events or 2h (rates are quite close to those in He, so 2h should be enough)
     *   rotate radiators 0/90, 45/135 in PARA and PERP configuration (both)
     *   TWO runs with amorphous radiator (no more until further notice)
     *   DO NOT TOUCH/CHANGE ANYTHING SENSIBLE THAT COULD NEED THE CALL OF TECHNICIANS!!! (at least until Monday)


RC MEETING:

Since it is a holiday, HAPPY THANKSGIVING, the 07:45 meeting (PD/RC) was moved to 09:00, thus the Hall D RC meeting will be moved to --> 10:00 <--
