Hope you're all having a restful Labor day; as a British citizen, it's been tough to drop the 'u' from that word, so I'll be glad to get this out the way and back to normal tomorrow. Our Hall C colleagues really followed through on the connotations of the term "Labour"; https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4038005 (and do check out the hyperlinks, if you're aware of British politics).
It's been another quiet day in Hall Delta, and things were almost even quieter when there was a staffing shortage at MCC, leaving a chance of no beam, but this didn't come to pass and we were able to complete our program of intensity studies on the Beryllium target with overnight runs at 50 nA. The quiet weekend also allowed a chance to perform a series of trigger studies needed for running on the helium target later in the week and these were completed this morning.
We are currently ramping down the solenoid, with the CDC and FDC voltages OFF, and taking data on the ramp down in case it's of use. When the field is zero, we'll perform an HV scan of the FCAL and begin zero field runs at low (50 nA) and high (200 nA) intensity. This will complete our program of measurements on the Beryllium target, and should be just in time for machine studies on Wednesday, during which we will change targets. This means hall access will be possible on Wednesday, so any in-hall work should be scheduled then around this target change.
Run planning meetings will resume tomorrow at the usual time (08:45) in the counting room and on zoom.
