Minutes

Present at SLAC: Sho, Takashi
Magnet power supplies (and other beamline devices)
* Almost all of the Hall B equipment was disconnected and cables were
removed, including controls for the magnet power supplies. Stepan
discussed this with Hall B leadership, and it was agreed that the
magnet controls will be installed by October. Pair Spectrometer
magnet and its power supply will be moved downstream at a later
date, by May 2014.
* One unpleasant complication is that Krister does not have any
drawing or schematics, so we will have to use the existing code to
figure out the connections.
* We decided to start restoration of the controls with the simplest
case, pair spectrometer.
* Stepan also wants to measure excitation curves of the Frascati
magnets sometime soon.
* Stepan would like to have other beamline components controls checked
out. Krister will take a look at them. Stepan will send an email
with a list of the beamline devices
<https://mailman.jlab.org/pipermail/hps-controls/2013-August/000010.html>
to the controls mailing list.
* At least one of the gausmeters on the space frame should move to the
forward carriage. We do not need to monitor the field in the tagger
magnet, therefore we can use the gaussmeters to monitor the fields
in the pair spectrometer magnet and the Frascati magnets.
* Actually the HPS controls equipment may end up on the pie-tower
since the forward carriage racks may be filled by CLAS12 equipment.
* We will need to setup up some IOCs on the forward carriage or the
pie tower when Sergey is back from Russia.
