Subject: New Member of the HPS PPC Needed NOMINATIONS OPEN TILL JAN 10

Dear HPS,

Sarah Phillips has served very ably as the Chair of the HPS Publications and Presentations Committee.
Unfortunately for HPS, Sarah has decided to leave her position at the University of New Hampshire to take a position with a software company outside of Boston. We thank her for all she's done for HPS, helping to establish the bylaws, studying how to detect true muonium, performing simulation work for the new muon system, and most especially, for helping to establish and for running a very healthy and proactive PPC.

So HPS needs a new member of the PPC. The PPC will play an ever more visible role in HPS, as we move to publishing our first paper and disseminating our first results, so this is an important position.

Please nominate yourself or a deserving and interested HPS colleague for this post by replying to this email.
Nominations will be open until January 10; we'll hold an election at the HPS Collaboration Meeting on January 24.

Our bylaws call for new general elections, for both the PPC and EC, at a future collaboration meeting in 2014, in late spring, slightly more than two years after the original appointments. Prior to that meeting, we'll call for nominations for the four remaining members of the PPC, and two members of the current EC. For now, we'll concentrate on the single PPC replacement.

Thanks again to Sarah for a job very well done. We'll miss her and wish her all the best.

John
for the HPS EC
