The deadline for the ICHEP2016 abstract submission (Sunday, Feb. 7) is in less than 3 weeks.

Abstracts can be submitted using http://www.ichep2016.org/abstracts/ (for both oral presentations and posters). Winners of the poster competition will be announced during the plenary session, and 50~60 poster presenters will have an opportunity to give a 1 minute elevator speech on her/his poster during the plenary session.

		Dear colleagues,
I am pleased to inform you that abstract submission for parallel and poster sessions of the 38th ICHEP 2016 in Chicago is now open and will remain open until Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016. Please use http://www.ichep2016.org/abstracts/ to submit your abstracts.

ICHEP 2016 will take place from the 3rd to the 10th of August 2016 at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Chicago: physicists from around the world will gather to share the latest advancements in particle physics, astro-particle/cosmology, and accelerator science and to discuss plans for major future facilities and industrial opportunities.

There will be 16 parallel sessions, chosen by the International Advisory Committee (http://ichep2016.org/committees/international_advisory_committee.php):

		Higgs Physics
		Neutrino Physics
		Beyond the Standard Model
		Top Quark and Electroweak Physics
		Quark and Lepton Flavor Physics
		Strong Interactions and Hadron Physics
		Heavy Ions
		Astro-particle Physics and Cosmology
		Dark Matter Detection
		Formal Theory Developments
Accelerator Physics and Future Accelerator Facilities
		Detector R&D and Performance
		Computing and Data Handling
		Education and Outreach
		Technology Applications and Industrial Opportunities
		Diversity and Inclusion
There will also be a poster session. Winners of the poster competition will be announced during the plenary session, and about fifty poster presenters will have an opportunity to give a 1 minute elevator speech on her/his poster during the plenary session.
We very strongly encourage "scientists from developing countries" and "young scientists" to submit abstracts for parallel and poster sessions. We plan to provide about 100 travel grants (e.g. “lodging + registration fee” and “lodging”). The priority for the grant will be given to underrepresented minorities, women, persons with disabilities and persons from developing countries. The travel grant application process will be announced in January 2016.

More information about the conference is available at http://www.ichep2016.org/. We will provide you the names and contact information of the conveners of the parallel sessions by early January. If you have any questions or comments, please send email to ichep2016 at hep.uchicago.edu.

I look forward to seeing you in Chicago next year.

On behalf of the ICHEP2016-Chicago Organizing Team (http://ichep2016.org/committees/organizing_committees.php)
