Dear HPS,

Autumn has stayed on a summer-like path this year in California, so the weather will be very accommodating for pretty much anything on Friday afternoon.  I’ve got a couple of options ready to go, and we can discuss and decide on Wednesday what sounds best to everyone.

First, we could return to Ridge Vineyards - on a mountaintop 40 minutes from SLAC - where we did a private tasting in 2016 on a very cold and blustery April day:

This time around - with the nice weather - I would suggest we take lunch up there immediately after the morning session and enjoy the view at their picnic tables (with a fantastic view of the Bay) before doing a group tasting and tour of the vineyards and winemaking facility at 2PM.  The tour+tasting would be $28/person, which together with a picnic lunch makes for a really nice way to spend the afternoon (we can stay until they close at 4 PM).  I currently have this reserved for up to ten people to taste, which can be cut back or cancelled up until Thursday.

Second, we could go sit by the Pacific Ocean in Half Moon Bay - 30 minutes from SLAC - and relax outside at the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company for a casual lunch and/or a few beers:

This option is particularly attractive if you are considering heading up to the city for the evening afterwards.
