[Hps] [EXTERNAL] SLAC Holiday Power Shutdown

Hi,

SLAC is planning to perform preventive maintenance of two substations
during the winter shutdown one of which distributes power to the building
housing all scientific computing.  The planned shutdown is set to begin the
evening of December 20th and will last through January 6th.  During this
time, nearly all computing services will be unavailable including the login
nodes (e.g. rhel6-64), batch nodes, nfs and gpfs.  Backup generators will
be used to keep some essential services up during the shutdown including
email.

The backup generators will be tested during the week of December 16 and
will cause an interruption of all computing services for a few hours.  As
soon as the date becomes concrete, I will forward along the details.
