[Hps] [Jlab-scicomp-briefs] Immediate Change: Email notifications for Farm Jobs

A change to Auger is being made today to address an urgent problem with email delivery from farm jobs. We apologize for the short notice.



Instead of sending an email per-job, the batch farm will now send each user at most one email per hour summarizing the disposition of jobs that completed during that time.



This change is being expedited because of ongoing problems with email from jlab.org being rated as junk when a burst of messages are sent. This email reputation information is shared widely and quickly affects all email coming to and from jlab.org. There are a few variations on this problem, but all of them are avoided if we rate-limit messages from the farm.



This change only affects users who choose to send per-job email from Auger.
