The intrinsic gluon distributions are computed from the coupling of the metric fluctuations induced by the spin-two Pomeron with the energy momentum tensor in anti-de Sitter space, together with the constraints imposed by the Veneziano model, without additional free parameters. The paper argues that this formalism allows the description, with good precision, of the distribution of internal shear forces and pressure inside the proton, and therefore also describes its dynamical stability.

REMINDER: VOLUNTEER ACCELERATOR PROGRAM DEPUTIES WANTED - TWO-WEEK DURATIONS, NO TECHNICAL BACKGROUND NECESSARY
If you have the ability to plan, organize and communicate - you can help support the lab as a PD! No technical background is necessary for this position. Keeping the accelerator program on track requires a focused and attentive PD. The PD shepherds the accelerator program, taking on program planning and coordination responsibilities during their tenure. The role is filled by a series of volunteers, who each agree to make the CEBAF program their principal focus at the lab for their two-week tenure. It's a great opportunity to learn about the accelerator, to meet many of the people who support it and discover how your normal work responsibilities fit into the lab's operational success. The staff in the Accelerator Operations department love to see new people engaged in running the accelerator and to share their work with other members of the lab community.

EICUG EARLY CAREER WORKSHOP - JULY 29-30
On Thursday, July 29 - Friday, July 30 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., the Electron-Ion Collider Early Career workshop will be held prior to the summer EIC User Group meeting (details forthcoming). For each of the two days, there will be contributed and invited presentations to introduce and clarify various aspects of the EIC project. The event is dedicated to students and postdocs but is open to everyone.

TROPICAL STORM ELSA - EXPECTED JULY 8
Tropical Storm Elsa is expected to reach eastern Virginia on Thursday, July 8. Wind gusts up to 30 mph and heavy rain showers are expected. Hurricane conditions are not forecast for Jefferson Lab or Newport News. The Emergency Response Team does not anticipate activating Hurricane Preparedness Condition 2 at this time. Jefferson Lab workers should inspect their areas and secure any equipment or materials that may be subject to storm damage before adverse weather arrives on Thursday. Anyone who may be commuting should plan for adverse conditions Thursday evening. The Emergency Management Team will provide an update around noon on Thursday or earlier if conditions warrant.

This is a reminder that possession of marijuana and illegal drugs on Jefferson Lab property remains prohibited by lab policy or federal law, despite the recent change in Virginia law that decriminalizes possession of small amounts of marijuana. Likewise, the possession of alcoholic beverages is prohibited unless served during an official function. These prohibitions include having these substances in your vehicle while on campus. Employees, subcontractors, Users and visitors are prohibited from working on-site while potentially impaired by the use of marijuana, illegal drugs or alcohol, even if these substances are used legally off-site.

On Thursday, July 8, the lab will conduct a regularly scheduled accountability exercise for JSA staff members. Employees may respond to the exercise via the link sent to you in an email or text. Both will contain a link to the response system - you only need to respond using one of the options listed below. Follow the instructions when prompted.
The options include:

* Approved work-related travel.
* On personal leave or scheduled time off.

TECHNICAL REPRESENTATIVE COURSE - AUG. 4
A technical representative (TR) training course (GEN020) will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 4 from 8:15 a.m.-1:15 p.m. Anyone who has been tasked to serve as a TR on any project at the lab is required to attend this training, if they have not taken the training previously. Attending this class is one part of the Jefferson Lab certification process for all TRs. The Wu-Ki Tung Award recognizes outstanding contributions made by early-career physicists on experimental or theoretical research on quantum chromodynamics. While the CST Division will continue to stock small quantities of workstations and high end desktops, most of the stockroom inventory will now be laptops. * Assess what equipment you will need to be working when you return.
* Plan for a half-day of machine updates/patches if the machine has been turned off for an extended time.
* If a system has been offline for more than six months, you will need to contact the CST Help Desk to get the machine reconnected or rebuilt.
Please note that the Help Desk does not provide support for hardware older than five years. You should also plan how you will connect to and use IT services both from on-site and remotely.

MANDATORY CYBER SECURITY TRAINING - DEADLINE SEPT. 23
The CST Division has released Cyber Security Awareness (CST001) training. This training has been added to the skills requirements list (SRL) for all Jefferson Lab computer account holders and will be required annually. The new CST001 training highlights cyber security awareness to safeguard JLab computer accounts and lab data. This training will be in addition to the current mandatory GEN034 training.
All JLab computer account holders will have until Sept. 23 to complete the CST001 training. If CST001 training is not completed in this time frame, then the account holder's computer account will be automatically disabled.
Currently, the expiration of GEN034 disables computer accounts, but this automation will transfer to CST001 instead. When customers with disabled accounts complete CST001, their account will be automatically re-enabled, and the same password can be used.
