Pavel: How much Ga you are thinking of irradiating?

Kevin had purchased a reasonably big jar of natural gallium. We should still have the irradiated targets for re-use; all residual activities in them are expected to be negligible by now. We should keep the current limit as it was before, to make the approval process easier. For the beam time estimate it would be good to hear from VCU about the range of Cu-67 activity that is best for their studies, and see if we can make it (including shipping arrangements). Better knowledge of beam energy and position is important. I would consider a request for the line modification if needed to make these measurements reliable.
Best regards,
Pavel

I am going to ask Ops for time at the injector for irradiating Gallium.

Let is fix a few things and work out the logistics.

Requisites:
Do we have enough target material? (PD, GK)
Do we have BNNT holders? (KJ)

Beam parameters

1. Beam Energy 18.5 MeV
2. Beam current ?
3. Beam time?

Logistics

Test plan ( revive the previous one, if we had one)
Do we have the means to measure energy and beam size? (I will check)
Assuming that VCU collaborators have time, how do we ship the
irradiated sample?

Anything else?

Once our thoughts are organized, should we meet (even on the phone)
for a few minutes to organize the experiment?

Thanks.
