Hi,
at the workshop in Krakow last week, Bill gave the JEF talk and he did y
good job explaining that there are more precise estimates and background
studies underway.
Sergi Gonzales-Soli asked about why the sensitivity for B from
eta->pi0gg is predicted to be so much better than previous measurements.
His argument is, if I understand correctly, that the model by Sean Tulin
ignores standard model background.
I told him that the JEF prediction is based on a bump hunt scenario and
that I assume that the sensitivity is derived from the reconstruction
efficiency from a simulation of the peak without background. And that in
my opinion this could be too optimistic.
In the light of further JEF talks, eg Laveen at DNP, can we please
discuss all this sometime? His practice talk for DNP is next week, I
think on Wednesday.
Thx,
Su.
