***2013 Match Play Club Championship***

One of the most popular events on our calendar is back - the Match Play Club
Championship. Entries are now being taken for this year's Championship.
This is a 100% Handicap Match Play Tournament in which you play your matches
on your own time. The event is free to Annual Members of The Pines only and
is free to enter. You pay only your cart fees for each round if you are
riding. You are seeded based on your handicap and you have one week to play
your match. Entry Forms and Rules are posted in the golf shop. This is a
great way to meet new people, gain valuable tournament experience and have
fun playing a format we typically do not play.

***HOT Summer Special - Twilight to start at 1400***

Effective today 6 July 2013 the twilight special which usually starts at 1600
will
be starting at 1400. That means you can play unlimited golf with a cart for
as little as $16*. *Prices are E6 & Below $16; E7 & Above & Retirees $20; DoD
$21; Guests $23 (Add $2 for weekends and holidays). Call for your tee time
today!

***Pay Day Scramble is THIS Friday - 12 July 2013 - 1300 Shotgun***

This scramble will be hosted by the Initial Military Training Center of
Excellence. If you are a part of the IMT CoE you will receive a $5 discount on
your tournament entry fee. The format will be a 4 person scramble, you can
sign up your team or we can help you find a team.

***Tip of the Week - Picking Smart Targets off the Tee***

Picking a smart target off the tee could be the difference on hitting the
fairway or not. The first thing you must know if your typical shot shape
(i.e. right to left). When lining up to hit your tee shot you must take that
into consideration and allow for the typical shape of your shot. By aiming
down the left side of the fairway you are in a sense doubling the size of the
fairway for your shot shape; also by aiming down the left side of the fairway
you are still allowing for the occasional straight shot to stay in the
fairway. Try this and see if you don't start hitting more fairways. If you
need help with this or any other part of your game please contact one of our
PGA Professionals and we will be happy to help.

***Upcoming Events***

-Thursday 11 July - Warrant Officer Association Golf Tournament - 1200 - the
first tee will be closed from 1145-1415; at that time walk up players will be

-Friday 12 July - Pay Day Scramble - 1300 - the first tee will be closed from
