[Jlab-scicomp-briefs] Geant4/ROOT (Sci-comp software) setup change for /site/12gev_phys/

[The following note is paraphrased from a similar email Maurizio sent
to the Clas12_software mailing list.  Both notes describe the same
change.]


In the long run it is useful to track groups of software versions and
associated library dependencies for the sci-comp software like ROOT,
Geant4, gemc, qt, etc.

This will be accomplished using a new environment variable: JLAB_VERSION.

The new environment can be set like this:
  setenv JLAB_VERSION production
  setenv JLAB_ROOT /site/12gev_phys
  source $JLAB_ROOT/ce/releases/$JLAB_VERSION/jlab.csh

NOTE: The path that gets sourced on the last line has changed.  You
      should update your .cshrc with the above 3-line stanza.

A wrapper script that will allow the old 2-line setup stanza to work as
before (using the default 'production' version set) be installed
shortly.

This should allow seamless access to previous version of software.
