Dear Users,
Please be advised of planned system maintenance scheduled for Tuesday, August 19, 2025. This maintenance will include important updates and infrastructure improvements that may affect access to key systems.

Start: 8:00 AM EDT, Tuesday, August 19, 2025

End: 6:00 PM EDT, Tuesday, August 19, 2025

Note: iFarm node reboots will begin at 6:00 PM EDT

Affected Systems and Required Actions
1. JupyterHub & Keycloak

  *
Update: Operating system upgrades to improve performance and security.
  *
Action Required: After maintenance, users will be prompted to update their access token upon next login to JupyterHub. Please follow the instructions provided at login.

2. Slurm24 Rollout

  *
New Default Job Runtime: 1 day
  *
Jobs Requiring More Than 1 Day:
     *
Must use the longrun QOS (Quality of Service)
     *
Maximum runtime: 4 days
     *
Note: The longrun QOS is preemptable, meaning jobs may be temporarily terminated and requeued based on system load.

Example Slurm job script (also see KBA [link here]):

#SBATCH --qos=longrun
#SBATCH --time=2-00:00:00  # Requesting a 2-day job


Jobs submitted without longrun QOS that exceed 1 day will not run. Please update your Slurm job scripts accordingly.
3. iFarm Node Reboots

  *
Reboot Start Time: 6:00 PM EDT
  *
Action Required: Save all work on iFarm nodes before this time to prevent data loss.
