Dear Colleagues:
We anticipate having an opening for a postdoc position in our group in
Jyväskylä next fall, and we would appreciate if you could bring the
following announcement to the attention of potential applicants.
Thanks in advance,
Tuomas Lappi and Kari J. Eskola
***
The Ultrarelativistic Heavy Ion Physics Theory group at the Department
of Physics of the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, will have an opening
for a postdoc position starting September/October 2016. The group's
research emphasis is on QCD theory and relativistic heavy ion
phenomenology. In particular we have interests in small-x physics,
out-of-equilibrium field theory, parton distributions and perturbative
QCD processes, hard and electromagnetic probes and hydrodynamical
modeling of heavy ion collisions.
The Department of Physics in Jyväskylä offers a pleasant and stimulating
research environment with interactions between the Heavy Ion Theory
group and experimentalists working in the ALICE collaboration, and also
contacts to researchers in particle physics, cosmology and lower-energy
nuclear physics. Close contacts are also maintained with the lattice
and finite temperature field theory groups in Helsinki.
We invite candidates with research interests and experience in any of
the fields represented in our group to apply. The appointment will be
made for 1+1 years.
The required qualification is a Ph.D. or equivalent in theoretical
high-energy or nuclear physics. Review of the applications will start on
December 14, 2015, but applications received later will be considered
until the position is filled.
Interested applicants should send their curriculum vitae, list of
publications and research interest statement, and arrange for two or
three letters of recommendation to be sent, by email (preferred) to
tuomas.v.v.lappi at jyu.fi <mailto:tuomas.v.v.lappi at jyu.fi> or by mail to
