*Subject:* PhysicsFest this Saturday
Dear friends and members of the physics family!
This Saturday we are going to celebrate all things physics by Making
Waves! (this is the topic of our PhysicsFest this year)
You can find all the details on the website
http://www.physics.wm.edu/PhysicsFest/
and I've attached the detailed schedule. But we are going to have
exciting public lecture (including Dr. Enrico Rossi explaining the
twists of this year's Nobel), interactive demos and activities,
astronomical observations, lab visits, hovercraft, giant oobleck pool,
and of coarse crowd-favorite liquid nitrogen ice cream.
Do you want to enjoy the day even more and volunteer? You will have a
really cool t-shirt, free food and the great feeling that you are
helping the society. Please let Brandon Buncher know, or sign-up on-line

*Calling all undergraduates*: back by popular request we are going to
have our annual physics poster competition! The top prize is $100, so
please participate. Faculty members - I would appreciate if you
encourage your students! If you have a poster already please let me know
the title, and if you need a poster printed - please send it to me by
Wednesday night.
Also, we can definitely use more of entries for our *photo competition*!
Send us your best pictures (email photos at physics.wm.edu
<http://physics.wm.edu>), and encourage your friends to do the same!
Again - cash prizes!
And also, if possible, please come and enjoy the activities (and ice
cream) at least for part of the time, and spread the word among your
friends! All organizers are working really hard to make this event
exciting and interesting for everyone! Even the weather should be great!
Yours,
Irina
