In case you buy at Harbor Freight, see below what you will need to do to get the tax exemption. I have attached a copy of the exemption form that I sent them.

Barbara, 

When making a purchase at a retail store; advise the salesperson that you are tax exempt and provide copies of your exempt paperwork. After first store purchase, they will have paperwork on file for future purchases. 

If you shop at multiple retail stores, they will each need copies of your certificate paperwork for their files.

Good morning, 

One of my card holders got this email when she contacted you about being taxed. I am the Manager for our company credit cards and I see another one of my card holders 

who bought in the store was charged tax on his purchase. Is he able to get a refund? Do you need an actual form from me in order to make any Jefferson Lab buys be tax exempt? 

I am attaching the form. 

Please let me know if something else you need and whether he can get a credit.

A Customer ID number will be issued to you once the first order is placed and has processed. Please use it to place future orders so that they can be non-taxable. 

Also keep in mind, if you place an order at www.harborfreight.com, the tax cannot be removed systematically. The most efficient way to place a tax-free order is to contact our Inbound Sales Department at 800-423-2567. We are available Monday–Saturday, 5:00am–8:00pm and Sunday 6:00am–6:00pm (PT).
