JSA/JLab Graduate Fellowship Program
Deadline for applications: February 29, 2016. See
http://www.jsallc.org/IF/fellowships.html for application information.
JSA will award fellowships to qualified doctoral students at SURA member
universities for research related to Jefferson Lab. Each fellowship will
provide the awardee's home institution with a $10,000 stipend. The
awardee's home institution must agree to provide the remaining research
assistant stipend from institutional or research funds. An additional
$2,000 supplemental stipend is provided for the graduate student.
Conference travel support is also available for use during the
fellowship period.
Since program inception in 1989 by the SURA Board of Trustees, over 190
fellowships have been awarded to students from 21 different SURA
universities. Fellowship recipients have continued their educational
pursuit while collaborating with JLab researchers to conduct research
related to the theoretical and experimental programs, including nuclear
and related particle physics, accelerator physics, associated science
and engineering, and free electron laser program.
The JSA/JLab Graduate Fellowship Program is supported by the JSA
Initiatives Fund, a commitment from the JSA owners, SURA and PAE Applied
Technologies, to support programs, initiatives, and activities that
further the scientific outreach, and promote the science, education and
technology missions of Jefferson Lab and benefit the Lab user community.
