Registration is now open for the 2016 JLab Users Group Annual Meeting on
June 20-22nd at Jefferson Lab.
The theme of this year’s program explores the 2015 Long Range Plan for
Nuclear Science: Reaching for the Horizon. The program includes a
variety of physics talks, presentations from the User Group Board,
laboratory management and funding agencies, and Prize winners. Featured
speakers will include: Barry Barish from Caltech, Alexandra Gade from
Michigan State U., Giorgio Gratta from Stanford University, Chen-Yu Liu
from Indiana University and Krishna Rajagopal from MIT.
Your participation is important, and we strongly urge everyone to
register now (http://conferences.jlab.org/ugm/index.html), and make
plans to attend.
We particularly encourage graduate students to attend. Student
registration fees will be waived, courtesy of the Jefferson Science
Associates Initiatives Fund. There will be special graduate student
lunch discussions each day with food provided.
The Users Group Board of Directors will meet on the evenings of June
21st and 22nd. If you have comments, questions, or issues to be raised
at the meeting, please let one of the board members know.
The poster competition continues, with a first prize of $500, a second
prize of $250, and a third prize of $100. Each winner will additionally
receive $500 in travel support to present their work at a meeting of
their choice. The deadline for poster competition abstracts is Friday,
June 10, 2016 (email to: lorelei at jlab.org)
You cannot win if you do not enter!
