Dear Jefferson Lab collaborators,

To help support the travel of students and post-docs engaged
in Jefferson Lab research projects, Jefferson Science Associates (JSA)
has re-approved for 2017 the junior scientists travel fund program. This
JSA
initiatives fund program,http://www.jsallc.org/IF/IFIndex.html, is aimed
at helping
young researchers present their results at national and international
conferences and
workshops.

Eligible researchers are students (undergraduate and PhD) and post-doc's
who
are not receiving other JSA Initiatives Fund support (e.g., graduate
fellowships, JSA research grants), who are not Lab staff members, and
who are actively
engaged in Jefferson Lab research.

To receive a JSA travel grant, students advisors should visit the web
page at
http://www.jsallc.org/IF/IndexJSTF.html, and complete the required form.
Requests for matching money (up to $400-500 or $800-1000 for local
or abroad venues respectively, up to a max of ~$1000 per research group)
should then be sent to the Travel Fund Committee chair (Marco
Battaglieri battagli at jlab.org).
In addition to information about where the young scientists will be
presenting their results, advisors should provide a clear statement of
the scientific potential of the student, and include a commitment to pay
for balance of the travel costs.

The travel fund committee (M.Battaglieri-Chair, D.Dutta, and
D.Higinbotham) will examine applications and reply to requests in a
timely manner.
Applications can be submitted anytime. For any questions or further
information send a message to:
battagli at jlab.org.

This project is supported by the JSA Initiatives Fund Program
(http://www.jsallc.org/ IF/IFIndex.html), a commitment from the JSA
owners, SURA and PAE Applied Technologies. Initiatives Funds support
programs, initiatives, and activities that further the scientific
outreach, promote the science, education and technology of the Jefferson
Lab and benefit the Lab's extended user community in ways that
complement the Lab's basic and applied research missions.

Sincerely,
Marco Battaglieri (chair)
Douglas Higinbotham
Dipangkar Dutta
