Dear Colleague,
I am contacting you on behalf of the spokespeople for the Hall C J/psi-007 experiment (E12-16-007). As you might already be aware, accelerator is having issues restoring the machine to a reliable state where they can deliver >2.1GeV/pass. In order to mitigate these issues, MCC and management decided to spend a week helium processing problematic cavities in the north linac.
Because of this delay, the J/psi-007 experiment is pushed back by 8 days. We extended the shift signup sheet to reflect the later end date of the experiment, with a new end-date of February 28th. All shifts up to February 5th have been canceled, and the tentative new start date for Physics beam will be February 7th.
You can sign-up for the new, extended shift schedule here: https://misportal.jlab.org/mis/apps/physics/shiftSchedule/index.cfm?experimentRunId=HALLC-J/PSI-2019 <https://misportal.jlab.org/mis/apps/physics/shiftSchedule/index.cfm?experimentRunId=HALLC-J/PSI-2019>
Shift Instructions:
The shift requirements for authorship on papers for J/psi-007 will be conducted on a per-institute basis. The institutes will earn authorship credits based on the number of weighted shifts completed. Note that OWL shifts receive an extra weight of 1.5.
Shift Requirements:
1 authorship credit: 6 weighted shifts
2 authorship credits: 10 weighted shifts (5 shifts per credit)
3 authorship credits: 12 weighted shifts (4 shifts per credit)
4+ authorship credits: 4 weighted shifts per credit
Examples:
A professor with a single student will need 2 authorship credits. The professor can ask their student to complete all 10 weighted shifts. Or they can both share the load and do any combination of shifts to get to a total of 10 weighted shifts.
A group of three professors will need 3 authorship credits. They will need 12 weighted shifts for this. They can share this shift requirement any way they would like.
Training Requirements:
The training requirements for our experiment are identical to those for all other Hall C experiments:
Hall C Safety Walkthrough (SAF112) (see https://www.jlab.org/human_resources/training/webbasedtraining <https://www.jlab.org/human_resources/training/webbasedtraining> for more info)
All training (including RadWorker I) up-to-date. You can check the status of your training here: https://misportal.jlab.org/training <https://misportal.jlab.org/training>
Target operators need additional Cryotarget training (PH019a/T/b). More info can be found here: https://www.jlab.org/human_resources/training/webbasedtraining <https://www.jlab.org/human_resources/training/webbasedtraining>
Best,
Sylvester
