Dear all,
I would like to give an update on the LAD preparations and what was done in the last week.
1.
Beam time is delayed by at least another week putting the start now to March 7th or so. On the other hand the lab is preparing for running until September so no reduction in beam time.
2.
3 panels of LAD are fully cabled and we started with cosmic tests.
3.
The laser system is almost ready to be used in the hall. The interlock system just got completed and we are waiting on some final safety sign-offs. I expect that we can install it next week in the hall and start some initial tests.
4.
There are issues with vaccum leaks in the scattering chamber. This is the reason why further installation of the other panels is delayed because work on the target could not be completed yet. The target group is intensively working on finding the leak and closing it.
5.
More GEM testing with cosmic is in progress in the Testlab and Holly plans to move equipment to the hall next week so we can start soon testing the GEMs in the hall.
6.
Work on the trigger is in progress and I expect to finish the general setup and timing delays next week and then work on fine-tuning some timings.
7.
Single spectrometer and LAD data replays were tested successfully on the HallC computers after Linux updates.
8.
Checkout of spectrometers with cosmics in progress.
Open tasks to be finished in the next weeks:
*
Installation of remaining detectors in the hall
*
Finishing of trigger setup
*
Laser system installation
*
Finish of remaining software tasks
*
Installation of reference bar for absolute timing calibrations with elastics
*
Most importantly: Testing, testing, testing of detectors with laser and cosmics
Best,
Florian
