NUCLEAR PHYSICS
The Nuclear Physics program supports basic research into the
fundamental particles that compose nuclear matter, how they
interact, and how they combine to form the different types of mat-
ter observed in the universe today.

Operations and Maintenance.—Within available funds, the rec-
ommendation provides $10,000,000 for Electron Ion Collider R&D.
The Department is directed to give priority to optimizing oper-
ations within Medium Energy Nuclear Physics and at the Facility
for Rare Isotope Beams.

Within available funds, the recommendation provides
$10,200,000 for the Gamma-Ray Energy Tracking Array,
$9,520,000 for the Super Pioneering High Energy Nuclear Inter-
action Experiment,

and not less than $2,500,000 for MOLLER.
