[Moller_intdet] [EXTERNAL] Technical note on excess noise in the detector chain

Hi,

I am attaching a technical note that explains the origin of excess noise 
in the detector
chain. It discusses two primary sources: excess noise due to detector 
resolution and
excess noise due to PMT gain fluctuations. The latter is shown to be 
negligible with the
right voltage divider design, but can become significant if the the PMT 
base design is not
carefully considered.

I will refine the note a little more over next few days and then add it 
to the document
database.
