*JAG Oktoberfest Set for Oct. 24. Volunteers Needed. Food Drive & United
Way Raffle to be Part of Event. Join the Fun! *

*Oktoberfest Info*
Jefferson Lab employees, their immediate family members, users and
students are invited to the Jefferson Activities Group Oktoberfest
scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 3-6 p.m. in the field behind the
SURA Residence Facility.

The menu for the Oktoberfest will include Brunswick stew, chili, grilled
foods and assorted beverages. A variety of games and activities -- for
all ages -- are planned for the event; games and activities are listed
below as well as on the event poster and on the JAG webpage. Everyone
attending (young, old and in between) is encouraged to wear a costume.

*Volunteers Critical to Event Success*
Volunteer participation is critical to the event's success. Nearly 40
volunteer positions need to be filled -- ranging from food preparation
and service to activities and crafts leaders to clean up. The volunteer
sign up list is posted to the JAG webpage. Please volunteer just one
hour of your time to help make this event a big success! Sign up now at:
http://www.jlab.org/intralab/committees/jag/

*Food Drive Underway through Oct. 24*
In conjunction with the Oktoberfest, the JAG is sponsoring a food drive
to support the Peninsula Food Bank. Please bring new, canned or boxed,
nonperishable food items to the food drive drop boxes located in the
ARC, SSC, CEBAF Center, Building 89 and TED lobbies. Food donation drop
barrels also will be placed near the entry points to the Res. Facility
field the day of the Oktoberfest. All donations will go to the Foodbank
of the Virginia Peninsula.

*United Way Raffle Ends at Oktoberfest*
Also during the Oktoberfest, the winning raffle tickets will be drawn
for the two iPads that are part of the lab's United Way fund-raising
campaign. Tickets are $1 each and are available for purchase from 12-1
p.m. through Wednesday, Oct. 24 in the CEBAF Center lobby. All raffle
ticket proceeds go to the United Way. Tickets may be purchased during
lunch times

We hope you will join us at the Oktoberfest and that you will support
the food drive and the United Way appeal.

Regards,
Bridget Paul
Jefferson Activities Group chair
