[Pansophy] gider drawings

Tiffany,

The Pansophy / DocuShare does not "maintain" the official drawings. We still rely on the Document Repository owned by ENGR. We keep "copies" in docushare for reference only. We can actually link travelers directly to the repository if that is preferred. The link from a Traveler to a drawing is a "as of date written" link to the drawing, but still for reference only.

As for the directory.  DocuShare is sick today so we cannot upload documents right now. I will let you know when we can get back in and send you a link to the directory.

Hi Valerie,

I believe I can upload the files but I have a couple questions.

  1.  Can you please let me know which Docushare folder to use?
  2.  The drawings in my SharePoint folder were downloaded from the JLab Document Repository; I downloaded them for my personal reference while researching background for the project.  They are not "new" or unissued drawings or sketches.  How does the Travelers / Pansophy / Document Repository handle configuration and change management of drawings.  Does saving the issued drawings to multiple locations (especially "official" repositories such as Docushare and the JLab Document Repository) negatively impact the configuration and change management system?

Yes I think putting the drawings into DocuShare would be a better place so that reference links can be made from travelers.

If it would help you at all, there is a document "DrawingMap" where I have been working to "map out" what the various girder related drawings are and how they relate.  At this time I mostly have the C100 girders mapped and am still working on the C20/C50 style girder drawings.

If you are looking for any other drawings, just send me the drawing number and I can look it up for you.
