Sarah,
It is not so much a problem for me, but if inspections (CMM or Calipers) are supposed to be documented in a Traveler, you will need acronyms and serial numbers.
Since we haven't checked the parts into the system yet, you can get the parts anytime you need. We can enter the information later as needed.

Good morning Mike, I am trying to get you the information that you need to properly check in the items in that crate that we discussed last week. As it turns out, it may take too long to put a few of the items through Jlab's CMM inspection. I will measure the parts myself as my supervisor Haipeng has requested me to. I have a feeling that one of the parts may go though CMM measurements anyway if Haipeng is not satisfied by my measurements... would that be frustrating on your end of this? I am sorry for the complication and thanks for your help. Let me know when it is okay to take the parts. For today I may take a few parts and measure them but will return them before I leave. Thanks for your undying patience. -Sarah
